5 Cool London Date Ideas This Week 25/5 – 31/5

This week’s fix on cool London date ideas.

The “Group” Date

Flamingo Pier - credit Dalstonist

Ah, the Flamingo Pier in Hackney. It only happens on the last Friday of every month during summer (still with me? Good) but it’s definitely the perfect place to meet his or friends for the first time. DJ’s, drinks, getting your feet wet on a constantly-moving pontoon outside, what’s not to love? Oh, the theme changes each month with this one being “the postcard from Seychelles”.

The “Pop-up” Date

Night Tales Shoreditch

Summer in London and pop-ups just go hand-in-hand. The infamous “Night Tales” has turned into the aptly named, “Summer Tales”. The first week has just blown over, so tickets for the Shoreditch food, drink, DJ etc institution should be easier to get your hands on. It’s perfect for a first date and is on until the end of August!

The “I Know a Cool New Bar” Date

Tracey Emin Lights of Soho

Step into the light! Lights of Soho is a cool, quirky bar filled with some really funky art installations is officially open! Expect to see some pieces by Tracy Emin and Chris Bracey. It’s perfect to go to for a post-work drink.

The “I’m An Adventurous Foodie” Date

OK, hear me out on this one. La Tasca are famous for their tapas, right…. Still with me, good. They have decide to fuse Spanish with…….. Scottish (I know) and serve dishes such as Irn Bru Sangria and Haggis Paella. Look, it might not be a match made in heaven on paper (peanut butter and banana had to start somewhere too!) but it will definitely be memorable.

The “Game Playing” Date

If things go well after date numero uno, there’s sure to be plenty of emotional game playing to come in the future. Before you get to that stage (and god knows we all LOVE that stage) why not just play an old-fashioned board game at Stories in Hackney.
